Smart Wallet

1. Introduction

Welcome to Smart Wallet ("we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how Smart Wallet handles your information when you use our expense-tracking mobile application (the "App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy.

By using Smart Wallet, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Data We Store — Locally Only

Smart Wallet stores the following data exclusively on your device using a local SQLite database. This data is never transmitted to our servers or any third party (except as described in the Ads section below):

• Transaction records (title, amount, date, category, notes)
• Budget limits you set per category
• App preferences (currency, language, dark/light theme)
• Onboarding completion status

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

Smart Wallet does not collect:

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Bank account or payment card details
• Location data
• Contacts or photos
• Precise device identifiers (IMEI, MAC address)
• Usage analytics or crash reports sent to our servers

We do not require you to create an account to use the App.

4. Advertising — Google AdMob

Smart Wallet displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA).

AdMob may collect and use:

• Advertising ID (GAID on Android / IDFA on iOS) to serve personalised ads
• Approximate location (IP-based, not GPS)
• Device type, OS version, language
• Ad interaction data (impressions, clicks)

You can opt out of personalised ads at any time:

• Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Delete Advertising ID
• iOS: Settings → Privacy → Tracking → disable for Smart Wallet

5. Data Security

Because all your financial data lives only on your device, it is protected by your device's own security (screen lock, encryption). We recommend enabling device encryption and a strong screen lock to keep your data safe.

If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted by the operating system. You can also manually clear all data from Settings → Clear All Data inside the App.

6. Children's Privacy

Smart Wallet is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or 16 in the EU/EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate action.

7. International Users

Smart Wallet is available globally. Since all data is stored locally on your device, no cross-border data transfers occur from our side. AdMob's data transfers are governed by Google's Standard Contractual Clauses and applicable data protection frameworks.

8. Third-Party Links

The App may display ads or links that lead to third-party websites or apps. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any personal information.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

• Access — see what data is stored (it's all in the App itself)
• Delete — use Settings → Clear All Data to erase everything instantly
• Opt out of ads — via your device's advertising settings (see Section 4)
• GDPR (EU users) — contact us for any data subject requests
• CCPA (California users) — we do not sell personal information

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
